About the Author
Barbara O'Reilly is an award-winning writer with more than 30 years of professional communications experience. As an active Catholic laywoman, she has served in many church ministries, including lectoring. She has lectored since 1973, including 13 years at St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City. She also served in parish healing groups for more than 25 years. She participated in the two-year courses given by the Archdiocese of New York for Spiritual Development, and the School of Healing in the Diocese of Trenton, N.J. She graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent with a BA in History and English; from Penn State University with an MA in Journalism; and from CUNY School of Law. Ms. O'Reilly worked for the Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration, as manager of its public education program; CBS News; AT&T; and several newspapers. As a freelancer, she authored articles that appeared in many publications, and she also wrote for Avon Products and J.C. Penney, and others. She lives in New Jersey.

A Wonderful Read

The author of this wonderful read will catch the imagination of all thinking, practicing Christian women. The book takes a long look at women through the ages and does not find them wanting like some of the leaders in our Church. Both Ms. O'Reilly and myself grew up in the same atmosphere of the Catholic Church during the same years and she says what alot of us think but wouldn't say it as well. I was delighted by Grace Under Pressure, and would highly recommend it. I bought copies for three of my daughters as well as my own, one for a dear friend and one for my Parish Lending Library. Another daughter bought one for herself and three for her daughters. Important to share how we feel with the ones we love the most, the future of our families and our Church community. You won't be disapponted. M.

GRACE UNDER PRESSURE - GREAT BOOK

I greatly enjoyed Ms. O'Reilly's book GRACE UNDER PRESSURE. It is a thorough research into the role of women from Mary to present day women in the Roman Catholic Church. Ms. O'Reilly shows humor as well as irony in her writing style which makes the book a very pleasant read. I did not know the history of abbys or of abbesses holding a rank of honor in Church heirarchy. It was exciting to learn what women have done throughout history in the Church and a bit discouraging to realize it is history. I am really thankful to have had this exciting read. I highly recommend Grace Under Pressure.

Incredible book - a monumental and long overdue review of women in the church. I have learned so many things (I thought I was rather well informed) but I am humbled by the scope, the breadth and the intellect of the work! The book contains a wealth of well documented and researched work to inform and educate those who need to hear this wonderful and timely message.

About the Author

JUSTIN LONDON has analyzed and managed bank corporate loan portfolios using credit derivatives in the Asset Portfolio Management Group of a large bank in Chicago, Illinois. He has developed fixed-income and equity models for trading companies and his own quantitative consulting firm. London has written code and algorithms in C++ to price and hedge various equity and fixed-income derivatives with a focus on building interest rate models. In 1999, he founded Global Max Trading (GMT), a global online trading and financial technology company. A graduate of the University of Michigan, London has five degrees, including a BA in economics and mathematics, an MA in applied economics, and an MS in financial engineering, computer science, and mathematics, respectively.

Bad C++ codes and bad math.

The only good thing about this book is the table of contents ( 1 generous star for that). If you've written C/C++ professionally for a living, you wouldn't stand looking at the code snippets in this book except some parts that's copied from the open source Quant Lib. Furthermore, the computational errors in the book shows you how careless the code examples are: On page 85, it has a function which is pupported to return the smallest prime greater than or equal to N:

The codes in the book which are not from the freely distributed source are not properly integrated. The Author claims

that he has written various classes and objects but you can

find few "main()" program in the book that allows you to see

if and how all these classes actually work

by instantiating the classes as working objects and

testing them. A big collection of code fragments, even if it all works, which we cannot be sure of, is not very helpful.

Absolutely lovely planner with tons of inspiring and wisdom quotes from Paulo Coelho's books.
Great quality, thick paper, comes with a bookmark and two book flaps that can be used as bookmarks too.
Beautiful illustrations, clean weekly design so you can use it for journaling or planning.
The size of the planner is perfect and I like that it has few blank pages at the end for notes etc.
I also like that each month has a theme ( courage, improvement, love ) and weekly quotes reflect that theme of the month.

"Adultary"

I have the Spanish version, but also bought the English version because I love it so much. To clarify the "misuse" of the word Adultary used "where the source should be", Adultary is one of Coelho's famous works. Everything is translated perfectly, and I recommend this to everyone who is a fan of Coelho like myself!!!

My review of Dead Island: Operation Zulu

This story takes place on an island that is still in throws of a biological outbreak that occurred worldwide ten years earlier. There are warring factions represented such as a two separate military contractors that are sent to the island to retrieve a vaccine or cure that a team of scientists have supposedly developed. I believe Mr. Gamboa successfully demonstrated the differences through the deeds and actions of both teams that there is a difference between mercenaries and soldiers of fortune. The reader should be able to tell the differences easily the farther they read into the action filled story. The zombies are mostly slow shamblers reminiscent of the TV show walking dead while still including the occasional runner or fast mover like the infected characters in the movie 28 days. Of course I felt the relatable American/Australian team to be more likable and appealing compared to the Russian mercenary team. The story was fast paced and I read it in just over twenty four hours. I can only think of an insanely built rollercoaster with the twists and turns that make up an imaginative thrill ride while I read each chapter. The in depth characters were all enjoyable to read, even the most evil soldiers that made up the blood thirsty and low moral Russian mercenary team. The social byplay that the many characters were constantly displaying reminded a lot of the recent Expendable movies. So action galore, well written characters and a vivid description of scenery were all equally represented. I’m looking forward to the next installment by Allen Gamboa.

A very good read. be sure you don't pass this one up.

What a great read. First let me say that this was a free copy but that in no way influences my review . This is a book with great characters , a good plot , lots of zombies and it keeps you wanting to read the next page no matter how tired you are. I am really looking forward to seeing what Mr Gamboa writes next. This is a stand alone book with a great ending . I highly recommend this book .

I bought this book to give me guidance for revising our PSSR policy from a one-size-fits-all PSSR form to a two level system. This book provides advice on preparing a short-form PSSR and a long-form PSSR. Best of all the advice here comes direct from AIChE so you have something to stand on.
