a classic story with beautiful, soft illustrations. these are the stories children will remember as they grow up. i started reading these stories to my son as soon as i brought him home from the hospital. although i wont know for sure for many years, he seemed to listen and enjoy the stories...although others may deem them full of "verbalization" (huh?), i call them beautiful words strung together for the enjoyment of children of all ages.

A Great Textbook.

I believe with God's guidance this textbook came my way. I was looking for an accounting book that will help me learn and understand better the information in it , because the textbook I use for this class is totally crap, I have more white hair than I had before. Yet, this book has saved me. It explains everything to you step by step. It give you examples and problems with answers to them and the answers are explain in details so you can understand why it is what it is. It gives you plenty of practices on each chapter, and throughout the chapter some stuff will be said again but in a different way so it is up to you which one you can grasp better. I love this book, I am grateful for the authors who wrote this book, and this book is a keeper in my library.

Must Have For the TV Video Collector

I purchased the first two books way back when they first came out (1959-1975 and 1975-1980) and I have found these two books to be more valuable in the age of TV Programs on DVD because they list not only the titles of programs, but the actors. And the order of episodes is especially helpful if you are recording rare TV shows.

I didn't know the author had more books out after 1980. I'm definitely interested because this author is very thorough and his books are a must have for anyone interested in early TV.

An amazing piece of work.

This is THE reference for anyone, professional or amateur, who is writing an episode guide or just wants to have a list of the episodes of a given drama in airdate order. An invaluable resource, as shown by the number of Web-based episode guides that cite one or all of these volumes as references. For most TV series, Gianakos also critiques certain episodes, and puts the shows into the context of their time. The 1959-75 volume is my personal favorite, capturing the era I believe to have been TV's best. This is an inexplicably underrated series of books.

Because, the Dalai Lama replies, he always looks at others positively and experiences a "feeling of affinity, a kind of connectedness." Over and over again, Cutler poses complicated psychological inquiries only to have the Dalai Lama offer responses that reach far beyond the parameters of the self. Most important book in my life

This book changed my life when I first read it in 2009. I was depressed and negative from some difficult life events and stuck that way, losing all sense of self. Reading this was hard work. I focused on everything very hard, took notes, self-reflected, and was determined to practice compassion and understanding. I payed attention to my thought patterns and weeded out the negative thoughts and changed them to positive ones. I have always had a temper so when I feel myself giving into it, I read the chapter on anger and find my control again. It's amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone who is willing to dedicate themselves to change and read it with an open mind. Anyone from any religion can use and appreciate it, including atheists. It's a way of living every day.

If You Are Looking to Make a Positive Shift in Your Consciousness, This Book Can Help!

This is a wonderful book that quickly and effectively helped me to look deeper inside to check my moral compass and how I am choosing to live this life. The lessons by the Dalai Lama are simple yet impactful. They make sense at an intrinsic level, but then I go about life realizing the commitments can be difficult to adhere to given the hardwiring we've gone through over our lives. But with practice and intention, I believe the pointers given out by the Dalai Lama can help one to find happiness in this life. The happiness is concerning being comfortable in your own skin and helping the world be a better place. As we learn to let go of our individual wants, and focus on universal needs, a positive change in our minds and hearts results.

I took off one star because I was not as impressed with the author's stories. I was eating up all of the Dalai Lama's speeches, but the author's lacked the same level of grand wisdom in my opinion, and I found myself eager for getting to the next passages about the Dalai Lama.

Too much talking by the author

I bought this book to understand the overall concepts that the Dalai Lama has to teach, however, most of the book was dialogue by the author. Basically skipped over many of these examples and tried to pick out the references by the Dalai Lama. These quotes did provide great teachings to live by daily, just wished there would have been more by The Master, and less by the author. Next book I will make sure it is authentic Dalai Lama.
