Robert Blinc is dean of the Jozef Stefan International Postgraduate School in Ljubljana, and Professor of Physics at the University of Ljubljana. He has held visiting professorships in the USA, Brazil, Switzerland, and Austria, and won a number of prizes for his work on ferroelectrics and the application of magnetic resonance to the study of the local structure of matter.

This is a lovely little book. However, I wanted more pictures of more flowers. I also would like a few more definitions.

Disappointed. I had hoped it would contain all the flowers in the list at the end of The Language of Flowers.
It only contains 50 out of the couple of hundred in Diffenbaugh's list.

A Decent Modern Flower Dictionary

I bought this flower dictionary after reading "The Language of Flowers." My interest in floriography had been piqued by the novel and I was eager to memorize the meanings behind as many flowers as I could.
The book took about 12 days to reach me. I was excited to flip through the first 50 illustrated flowers, but parts of their descriptions lacked something. Rather than learning about the poetic meanings behind the flowers, I was informed of rather boring practises that took place hundreds of years ago. My only complaint would be such. Other than that, I adore the flower dictionary and use it regularly.

This solid primer on recruitment features nearly all you need to know about the subject. Recruitment expert Jane Newell Brown offers a superbly organized, savvy book. Though her writing is dry at times, Brown teaches the basics and nuances of recruitment. The book has a strong UK orientation, but getAbstract finds its resource materials and principles useful for anyone who is new to recruiting and hiring, though the book also contains some tips for established HR professionals and for managers.

Handy and effective

I have found this book very handy to work out a recruitement strategy for companies. Reading it one can see the mistakes recruiters may make and how it is possible to do it right. I liked the ideas on creating a firm which is a pleasure to work in, as this makes it much easier to attract the best candidates for your company. I used this as a text book. It is well illustrated, though in black and white only. It has a particular focus on the art inspired by Alexander the Great as one would expect. Even for a Art History beginner like me the text was fairly accessable.

About the Author
Adm. James Stavridis, USN (Ret.) is a 1976 distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy who spent over 35 years on active service in the Navy. He commanded destroyers and a carrier strike group in combat and served for seven years as a four-star admiral, including nearly four years as the first Navy officer chosen as Supreme Allied Commander for Global Operations at NATO. After retiring from the Navy he was named the dean of The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in 2013. Best book on the subject.

A well written scholarly book which is very thorough. I wish that Prof. Hamori would explain Hebrew words and phrases thoroughly. If you do not know Hebrew well some statements are difficult to follow. That is my only misgiving of an otherwise extremely thorough and well written book.

I knew I was purchasing a used book but was unaware that it was such an early edition. Probably just my unfamiliarity with Amazon. The book I purchased was published in 1992. Much has changed in terms of understanding of physiological processes since 1992 and so the book is not much use to me. I will be very cautious when purchasing used books in the future.
