Excellent source of Art History

I used this as a text book. It is well illustrated, though in black and white only. It has a particular focus on the art inspired by Alexander the Great as one would expect. Even for a Art History beginner like me the text was fairly accessable.

This is an excellent handbook for Hellenistic Art. Buyers choosing between the paperback and hardcover versions should be aware that the quality of the photographs in the paperback version is very poor.

This book is very descriptive and the detail is more than adequate. I recommend this book despite the black and white photos, which are really quite good in any case.
